A Welcome of all delegations was arranged for approx 7:00PM

Saturday 22nd May 2010

At 10:00am we met at the New Stadthalle in Langen for the raising of the flags and the national anthems of the towns. This was followed by a reception of delegations by Mayer Frieder Gabhardt, speeches from each countries mayor followed by drinks and snacks in the Stadthalle lobby.

Between 12:00 and 2:00PM, the Langen music school ochestra gave a concert to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the old town market, This took place in the old town market  at Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz next to the old town hall.

The rest of the day was free up to 6:pm, however there was an optional "Do you know Langen" quiz walk.

At 6:00PM at the New Stadthalle in Langen there was a welcome and dinner, sponsored by Stadtwerke Langen GmbH. The food was prepared and served by the men's cooking club, Chuchi Rhein-Main of which the motto is "Culinaria 2010 - Delicious food the German way"

There was then music "Treml and Band", followed by from the Langen Youth Centre "KOM, ma", the Langen youth band "Crayfish"

Sunday 23rd May 2010

The whole day was then free with the families. There was also an optional Ecumenical church service at langen town church, with the "Vocal Ensemble", conductor: Christine Bechtel

Monday 24th May 2010

We arrived at the Stadthalle at 8:45am, where we chose which of 5 different tours to visit.....

  1. "Rhine and Nature":       Rüdesheim, Assmannshausen and the Rhine Valley by boad
  2. "Rhine and Technique":  Speyer and it's technique museum
  3. "Nechar and Culture":    Heidelburg and its students' romanticism
  4. "Rhine and Culture":      Wiesbaden with Neroberg, Climbing Park
  5. "Main and Culture":       Wertheim and boat trip to Franconia

Tuesday 25th May 2010

At 11:00am for anyone interested, there was a visit to the centre for young and old, "Zenja", Zimmerstraße

From 6pm at the main hall of New Stadthalle, there were welcome drinks, followed by a Farewell night with Dinner. This included a performance from various Langen associations (presentations of music, sports etc), and music by Felice Deho on Guitar.

The prize will also be awarded for the winner of the "Do you know Langen" quiz, followed by farewell speeches and the farewell song. Departure times will also be announced for Wednesday. The evening should end at around Midnight
